Softball Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Burke Bulldogs

Benson took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Burke, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bunnies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bunnies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brooke Lynn Kaiser Bates was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in August. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
