Preview: McClatchy Lions vs. River City Raiders
McClatchy is 10-0 against River City since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The McClatchy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the River City Raiders at 7:00 p.m. McClatchy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully River City likes a good challenge.
Even though La Jolla Country Day scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, McClatchy still came out on top. McClatchy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 victory over La Jolla Country Day. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win McClatchy has posted yet this season.
In what's become a running theme this season, River City gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Burbank on the road to the tune of 55-13. The win was just what River City needed coming off of a 64-34 loss in their prior matchup.
McClatchy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for River City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Everything came up roses for McClatchy against River City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 89-27 victory. Does McClatchy have another victory up their sleeve, or will River City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
