Preview: Nordhoff Rangers vs. Santa Ynez Pirates
Nordhoff is 0-3 against Santa Ynez since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Nordhoff Rangers will be staying on the road to face off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on November 28th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Nordhoff had to suffer through a rough 60-22 loss at the hands of Moorpark. Nordhoff has struggled against Moorpark recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Santa Ynez unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of San Luis Obispo by a score of 48-45.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Rylan Agin, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Helina Pecile, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Nordhoff's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Santa Ynez, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Nordhoff was taken down by Santa Ynez 68-30 in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Thankfully for Nordhoff, Malia Loos (who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
