Basketball Game Preview: Rosemont Wolverines vs. Galt Warriors

Rosemont and Galt are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Rosemont Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Galt Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Rosemont and five for Galt.

Rosemont is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Laguna Creek last Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Rosemont was beaten by Laguna Creek 60-31. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 819th, while the Cardinals are ranked 390th).

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Myra Miles and Jestine Tofi. Tofi had a great game and almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine boards, and nine assists. Meanwhile, Miles did her best for the losing side, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed Galt with a 48-22 loss courtesy of Tokay on Monday.

Rosemont will have to keep a close watch on Izabella Cathey and Antanella Feilbach, a pair of players who had a big impact on Galt's prior game. Cathey posted four points and nine rebounds, while Feilbach earned five points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Galt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Rosemont, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Everything came up roses for Rosemont against Galt in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-25 victory. Does Rosemont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Galt turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
