Recap: McGuffey Highlanders vs. Jefferson-Morgan Rockets
In what's become a running theme this season, the McGuffey Highlanders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 60-19 victory over Jefferson-Morgan at home. The win was just what McGuffey needed coming off of a 71-38 defeat in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McGuffey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Schumacher, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Schumacher is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Gaso, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
McGuffey pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
McGuffey will head out on the road to face off against South Park at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they will be playing at home against Monessen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
