Olathe West faced Olathe Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Owls came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 38-27. Winning may never get old, but the Owls sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olathe West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Hale, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries. Those 98 rushing yards gave Hale a new career-high. Olathe West's leading receiver Sam Krzykowski was Hale's top target yet again, picking up 199 receiving yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Olathe West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Olathe Northwest still got an impressive performance from Bryce Randall, who rushed for 133 yards and three TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Comfort, who rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown.
