Preview: Woodcrest Christian Royals vs. Ontario Christian Knights
Woodcrest Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Ontario Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodcrest Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 781st, while Ontario Christian is ranked tenth).
Last Thursday, Woodcrest Christian suffered a tough 48-26 loss at the hands of California Lutheran. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Woodcrest Christian has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Ontario Christian entered their tilt with Arrowhead Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ontario Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Arrowhead Christian 88-7 on the road. Ontario Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Kaleena Smith, who scored 42 points along with six steals. The matchup was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Karsen Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds.
Woodcrest Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Ontario Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Woodcrest Christian was taken down by Ontario Christian 96-28 in their previous matchup back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Woodcrest Christian was down 54-15.
