Soccer Game Preview: Lowndes vs. Colquitt County

Lowndes is 2-8 against Colquitt County since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lowndes Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Colquitt County Packers at 7:30 p.m.

Lowndes is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of LaGrange. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Vikings couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Colquitt County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Syrupmakers.

Colquitt County pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Lowndes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Lowndes might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Colquitt County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Lowndes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
