Softball Recap: Malcolm Wins Going Away Against Plattsmouth

Malcolm lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Plattsmouth, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Clippers blew past the Blue Devils 12-4 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Clippers.

Aryanna Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Myers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Tiedeman, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Grace Green was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Malcolm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Malcolm now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Plattsmouth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.

Malcolm does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plattsmouth, they will challenge Gross Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
