Preview: Meadowbrook Christian vs. Bucktail Bucks
Meadowbrook Christian is 7-1 against Bucktail since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Meadowbrook Christian will head out on the road to challenge the Bucktail Bucks at 7:30 p.m. Meadowbrook Christian is looking to tack on another W to their 16-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Meadowbrook Christian strolled past Juniata with points to spare, taking the game 46-30. Given Meadowbrook Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Juniata is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meadowbrook Christian relied on the efforts of Madalyn Fasnacht, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and two blocks, and Kailey Devlin, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Fasnacht has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alayna Smith, who scored three points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Bucktail scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Sullivan County 42-28. That 14 points margin sets a new team best for Bucktail this season.
Meadowbrook Christian's record is now 13-0. Bucktail's record now sits at 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Meadowbrook Christian against Bucktail in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 44-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadowbrook Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
