Baseball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus made up a huge gap compared to their last game against LaGrange, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Grangers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ryan Culler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Columbus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Columbus will head out to take on Northside at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for LaGrange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
