Ipswich is 8-2 against Newburyport since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Newburyport had taken Lynnfield down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Clippers fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 3-2.

Newburyport actually scored more points across those five sets (100-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-10.

Newburyport's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Ipswich, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Ipswich suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Newburyport when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
