Baseball Recap: Hearts Academy Wins Going Away Against Covington Academy

On Monday, the Hearts Academy Panthers made easy work of the Covington Academy Bulldogs and carried off a 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Jameson Wood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Gavin Dyson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cole Trawick, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Hearts Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covington Academy only posted an OBP of .100.

Hearts Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Covington Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hearts Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Covington Academy: the pair will be back at it again later today.
