Recap: Fairfield Falcons vs. Benicia Panthers
Even though the Fairfield Falcons have not done well against the Benicia Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Fairfield enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over Benicia. The victory was familiar territory for Fairfield who now have three in a row.
Mayana Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Mariah Giron was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Benicia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will take on Vacaville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vacaville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Benicia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Diablo is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
