Basketball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Washington Huskies

The Miramonte Matadors will challenge the Washington Huskies at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Miramonte strolled past McKinleyville with points to spare, taking the game 44-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramonte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Robin Parmelee, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Annelise Lindberg, who put up six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Washington waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged the Cardinals out 53-51. While the Huskies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Miramonte against Washington when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 51-19 victory. Does Miramonte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
