Basketball Recap: Pleasant Valley Takes a Loss

After a string of four wins, Pleasant Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by the Folsom Bulldogs 79-41. The Vikings were probably out for revenge after losing 70-39 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pleasant Valley's loss came despite strong showings from AJ Gambol and Nyah Fortune. Gambol posted 16 points, while Fortune earned 11 points. Gambol's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Pleasant Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Folsom, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Pleasant Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sonora on December 26th. As for Folsom, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Ridge at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
