Baseball Recap: Heard County Comes Up Short

Heard County extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 12-9. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bremen Blue Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Braves have suffered against the Blue Devils since February 15, 2023.

As for Bremen, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

For Bremen's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradon Beckwith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Another was Eli Brock, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

While Heard County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
