Preview: Poly Bears vs. Valley View Eagles
Poly has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Valley View Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley View took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Poly, who comes in off a win.
Poly posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They really took it to Lakeside for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-9 victory at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-5.
Reagan Metzger and Elizabeth Murray were among the main playmakers for Poly as the former scored ten points and the latter scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murray has scored all season. Nea Denton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Valley View suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Rancho Christian 80-46. It was the first time this season that Valley View let down their fans at home.
Poly's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Valley View, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.
Poly barely slipped by Valley View in their previous meeting on January 8th, winning 40-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poly since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
