Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Amador Valley Dons
The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles waltzed into their matchup Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 56-39 win over Amador Valley. Given Clayton Valley Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Amador Valley is ranked 744th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clayton Valley Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Scott, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Scott scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Surney, who scored ten points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Clayton Valley Charter's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Amador Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Clayton Valley Charter will be home for the holidays to greet Castro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Castro Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday. As for Amador Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
