Basketball Recap: Santa Ana Valley Starts Season with Win at Home

Santa Ana Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Samueli Academy Firewolves with a sharp 45-21 victory. The Falcons pushed the score to 36-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Firewolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Santa Ana Valley can attribute much of their success to Jocelyn Guadalupe, who posted 17 points. That's the most points Guadalupe has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sofia Guzman, who scored eight points.

Santa Ana Valley has already played their next contest, a 61-21 win against NOVA Academy on the 20th. As for Samueli Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-3 victory against Vista Meridian on the 20th.
