Basketball Recap: Oxford Academy Drops Season-High Score on Glenn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford Academy). They blew past the Glenn Eagles 87-10 on Monday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Eagles are ranked 1221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Oxford Academy to victory were Emma Noble and Ashley Ventura. Noble went 14 of 19 on her way to 34 points in addition to six steals and five assists, while Ventura almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine assists. Noble has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Tran, who went 6 for 9 en route to 12 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Oxford Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Oxford Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for Glenn, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Oxford Academy has already played their next contest, a 54-29 win against Artesia on the 22nd. As for Glenn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 77-7 loss against Pioneer on the 22nd.
