Football Recap: Annapolis Keeps Crofton's Under Pressure + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Old Mill, Annapolis was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against Crofton by a score of 16-6. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 40-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Nysean Harris Johnson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Annapolis' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Rion Jackson, Zach Boyd, and Elijah Forrester, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Annapolis is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.5 points over those games. As for Crofton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Annapolis and Crofton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will be playing at home against Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crofton, they will take on Severna Park on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so Crofton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
