Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Canoga Park

Kennedy has won five straight games at home, while Canoga Park has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Kennedy Cougars will host the Canoga Park Hunters at 4:30 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Kennedy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past San Fernando 1-0. Give the Cougars' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Leileen Morales, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Canoga Park won against Sylmar on Friday with one goal and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Monday. Canoga Park sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Van Nuys. That's two games straight that the Hunters have won by just one goal.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Canoga Park, they are also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season.

Everything went Kennedy's way against Canoga Park when the teams last played back in January, as Kennedy made off with a 4-1 win. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Canoga Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
