Soccer Game Preview: Christopher vs. Ann Sobrato

The Christopher Cougars will head out to take on the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christopher is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Christopher gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Santa Teresa by a score of 3-1. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Saints are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ella Oetinger and Hannah Sandoval scored all three of Christopher's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Ann Sobrato's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand Live Oak a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two goals.

Christopher is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven contests. As for Ann Sobrato, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-2.
