Recap: Temecula Prep Patriots vs. Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Mustangs
The Temecula Prep Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School 62-9 at home. Temecula Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Temecula Prep found their leader in underclassman Zylah Coleman, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 steals. Coleman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Miller, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
The win (which was Temecula Prep's third in a row) raised their record to 8-7. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10.
Temecula Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Desert Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 10th. Desert Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Temecula Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, they will head out on the road to take on Santa Rosa Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
