Softball Recap: Marshalltown Comes Up Short

Marshalltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Ames Little Cyclones. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Little Cyclones this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-1 loss on Tuesday.

Marshalltown's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Ames, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marshalltown will square off against rival Fort Dodge at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Ames is set to challenge their familiar foe Waterloo East at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
