Softball Recap: Sumner-Fredericksburg Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Sumner-Fredericksburg barely beat Crestwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Cadets with a sharp 10-1 victory on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Sumner-Fredericksburg is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Crestwood, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Sumner-Fredericksburg will venture away from home to face off against Oelwein on Thursday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crestwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-2 win against New Hampton on the 8th.
