Softball Game Preview: Screven County Gamecocks vs. Washington County Golden Hawks

The Screven County Gamecocks will be taking part in a tournament against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Screven County is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Statesboro. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Washington County posted their closest victory since August 22, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Putnam County 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Hawks.
