Softball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

Commerce lost against Hart County back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Addy Grace Martin put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Nunley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Hart County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-14.

Looking ahead, Commerce will face off against White County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hart County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
