Football Recap: Downingtown East's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Downingtown East won the last time they faced Spring-Ford and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars secured a 21-17 W over the Rams. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Rams are ranked 95th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spring-Ford's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Wickersham and Kaden Pickersgill. Wickersham picked up 105 receiving yards and one score, while Pickersgill threw for 257 yards and a pair of TDs. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.
