Softball Recap: Amanda Weis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Elkhorn

Four must be Gretna East's lucky number: they beat Elkhorn with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Griffins didn't even let the Antlers on the board, marking the Griffins' second-straight 4-0 shutout. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Antlers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Gretna East got a great performance from Mya Swartz as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Swartz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Amanda Weis was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Beach, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Gretna East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhorn only posted a batting average of .143.
