Soccer Game Preview: Sage Creek vs. Carlsbad

The Sage Creek Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Carlsbad Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Sage Creek turned things around against Oceanside on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pirates a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Bobcats were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Riley Gergurich, who's now up to two this season.

Carlsbad got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They won by a goal and slipped past Canyon Crest Academy 2-1.

Sage Creek's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Carlsbad, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-4.

Sage Creek might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Carlsbad in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Sage Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
