Baseball Game Preview: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Johnson County Trojans

The Swainsboro Tigers will square off against the Johnson County Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Swainsboro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Johnson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Swainsboro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Academy of Richmond County 18-3 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Johnson County got themselves on the board against Telfair County on Wednesday, but Telfair County never followed suit. They came out on top against Telfair County by a score of 5-0. Johnson County hasn't had any issues with Telfair County recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Johnson County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J. Peeples, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Peeples snagged this season. D. Sharber was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Swainsboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Johnson County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
