Softball Recap: Brookwood's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Brookwood's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Deerfield-Windsor Knights with a sharp 13-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Brookwood let Audrey Harrison and Lyla James West run wild. Harrison got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while West went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three hits gave West a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laney Oebel, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Brookwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Brookwood's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Deerfield-Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Brookwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-2 loss against Valwood on the 25th. As for Deerfield-Windsor, they have also already played their next matchup, a 17-0 defeat against Terrell Academy on the 25th.
