Soccer Game Preview: Mercy vs. South San Francisco

The Mercy Bears will face off against the South San Francisco Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mercy will be strutting in after a win while South San Francisco will be coming in after a defeat.

Mercy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Capuchino. The win continues a trend for Mercy in their matchups with Capuchino: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, South San Francisco fell victim to Hillsdale and their airtight defense on Saturday. 2026 welcomed they with a 6-0 loss courtesy of the Fighting Knights. South San Francisco haven't had much luck with Hillsdale recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mercy's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for South San Francisco, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Mercy skirted past South San Francisco 1-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
