Soccer Game Preview: Prospect vs. Independence

The Prospect Panthers will head out to face off against the Independence 76ers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Prospect is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lincoln on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 4-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Prospect's goal came courtesy of Micu Adachi, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Willow Glen. While losing is never fun, the 76ers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1174th, while the Rams are ranked 537th).

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Prospect, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7-1.

Prospect beat Independence 2-0 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prospect since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
