The Lower Moreland Lions and the Quakertown Panthers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lower Moreland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Lower Moreland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Springfield Township 76-59. The victory was all the more spectacular given Lower Moreland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Springfield Township is ranked 90th).
Lower Moreland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briana Mcferran, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The match was Mcferran's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Sydney Santora was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Quakertown had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Upper Perkiomen 46-21. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Quakertown has managed all season.
Lower Moreland's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Quakertown, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.
