Basketball Recap: Lompoc Takes a Loss

Lompoc lost against Cabrillo back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lompoc Braves received a blow as they fell 43-27 to the Cabrillo Conquistadores.

Despite the loss, Lompoc still got an impressive performance from Janezza Garcia, who posted four points and three steals.

Among those leading the charge was Jasmyn Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Angeliyah Gonzales was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Lompoc has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Cabrillo, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Lompoc will square off against Santa Ynez at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lompoc is facing Santa Ynez at the right time seeing as Santa Ynez is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cabrillo, they will challenge Templeton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cabrillo will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Templeton will have lost three straight heading into Friday's contest.
