Softball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Sylva Bay Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The victory got Meridian HomeSchool back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Meridian HomeSchool will head out to challenge Newton County Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sylva Bay Academy will be paying especially close attention to the FLYERS' contest: after the FLYERS face off against the Generals, they'll take on Sylva Bay Academy again at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
