Soccer Game Preview: Whitewater vs. Woodward Academy

The Whitewater Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Woodward Academy War Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Whitewater's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Whitewater didn't have quite enough to beat Landmark Christian and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one goal.

Bryan Garcia and Jacob Ross scored both of Whitewater's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, Woodward Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Tri-Cities. Two seems to be a good number for the War Eagles as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Whitewater now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Woodward Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Whitewater was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodward Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2022, winning 2-0. Does Whitewater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodward Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
