Softball Recap: Peach County Trojans vs. Crawford County Eagles
Peach County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Crawford County on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 7-5.
Alyssa Crozier put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Crozier was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Peach County got a big performance out of Taleyah Marable, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Addison Dickerson was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Peach County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Crawford County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peach County will host Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crawford County, they will welcome Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
