Baseball Recap: Ridgeland's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Ridgeland can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the LaFayette Ramblers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since February 22nd.

Kaiden Williams tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. He is becoming a predictor of Ridgeland's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Koltin Webb was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Ridgeland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The win got Ridgeland back to even at 9-9. As for LaFayette, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Ridgeland will have a chance to go back-to-back against LaFayette: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
