Recap: Salinas Cowboys vs. Alisal Trojans
The Salinas Cowboys lost against the Alisal Trojans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Salinas received a tough blow as they fell 51-34 to Alisal. While losing is never fun, Salinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Alisal is ranked 132nd).
Salinas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Uchida, who scored eight points. Andrea Nava was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lesly Rodriguez trevi?o was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds for Alisal. The contest was Rodriguez trevi?o's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayeli Gil-silva, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Salinas' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Alisal, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1-1.
Salinas will head out on the road to face off against Everett Alvarez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Everett Alvarez is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Alisal, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Monterey at 7:00 p.m.
