Softball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

If Lakeside was feeling good fresh off their 21-7 takedown of Tri-Cities on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Mount Vernon Mustangs on Wednesday, falling 20-3.

Willow Wilson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. Porter Bemiss also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mount Vernon, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will square off against Shiloh at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Vernon, they will take on Cambridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
