Basketball Recap: Union Knights/Damsels vs. Brockway Rovers
The Union Knights/Damsels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 56-31 loss to Brockway might stick with them for a while. Union has not had much luck with the Rovers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Ava Strauser, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strauser has scored all season.
Sophia Schmader was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 steals for Brockway. Schmader hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Rheanna Spinda was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Union's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Brockway, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.
Union will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clarion-Limestone is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Brockway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
