Baseball Recap: Larkin Comes Up Short

Larkin lost to Elmwood Park back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Royals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4.

Nolan Sulejmani was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Sulejmani was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Larkin's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Sulejmani wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aden Mora, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Mora has hit this season.

Larkin's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Elmwood Park, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Coming up, Larkin is taking a road trip to challenge St. Edward at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elmwood Park, they will welcome Holy Trinity at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
