Basketball Recap: Golden West Comes Up Short

Golden West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 44-10 loss at the hands of the Redwood Rangers. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 898th, while the Rangers are ranked 368th).

Golden West got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Briana Lopez and Liliana Delgado, who each put up three points.

Redwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jelena Singkeovilay, who posted 11 points and six steals. Jordan Powell was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

Golden West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Redwood, their record now sits at 11-9.

Golden West has already played their next contest (against Monache), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Redwood has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against El Diamante.
