Basketball Game Preview: Saegertown Panthers vs. Maplewood Tigers

Saegertown hasn't had much luck against Maplewood recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Saegertown Panthers take on the Maplewood Tigers at 7:15 p.m.

Last Monday, Saegertown was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Cambridge Springs. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Maplewood waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 49-40 win over the Panthers.

Maplewood's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Saegertown, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.
