Basketball Recap: Tallyah Nasol Key Part of Team Effort in Crusaders Win

With a playoff win on the line, Archbishop Riordan rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 49-45 win over the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 57-45 win last Tuesday.

Archbishop Riordan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tallyah Nasol out in front who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariah Thompson, who had ten points.

Archbishop Riordan pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Coming up, Archbishop Riordan will host Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Riordan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they will venture away from home to take on Archbishop Mitty at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Mitty knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully St. Ignatius College Preparatory likes a good challenge.
