Ridgway put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They breezed by Keystone on the road to the tune of 56-29. Given Ridgway's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Keystone is ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Brockway entered their tilt with Kane with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brockway came out on top against Kane by a score of 49-38 on Wednesday.
Brockway's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rheanna Spinda, who scored 16 points along with five steals, and Sophia Schmader, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Schmader has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Gelnette, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Ridgway pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Brockway, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Everything came up roses for Ridgway against Brockway in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 73-44 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brockway's Sophia Morrison, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Ridgway still be able to contain Morrison? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
